When it comes to accommodation, he can be very picky so I let him to do all the arrangement while I plan for all the touristy stuff 😀 After much researched, he managed to get a good deal from booking.com for our second hotel – Butterfly on Morrison, Causeway Bay
(stay tuned) and after much thought, we decided on Bridal Tea House, Yau Ma Tei as our first stop. Bookings were made through their website.
Everything is pretty expensive in Hong Kong – food, transportation, entrance fees and especially accommodation. The room tariff can burn a big hole in your pocket. We stayed at two different hotel during this trip mainly because
1. we will only check-in after 7pm (just so poor 😦 )
2. the rate is double the normal price on a Friday nite
3. to experience the hustle and bustle of Yau Ma Tei life coz it’s just next to Temple street (i kid)
We’ve read quite a lot of review about it and if you ask me to summarize it in three words – it will be convenient, clean and small
and by small I mean super small….
For the price of HKD605, this is the room that we got. Deposit of HKD500 will be charged and returned when you check out. A few steps from the room door and you’ll reach the bed.
Limited space to move around.
Oh… We overheard a conversation between the mother and her 4/5 years old daughter in the lift
Daughter: ahhhhhhhhh…. dunnnnnn wannnnnnn!!!
Poor little girl… The rest were laughing….
I personally feel that this is more suitable for backpackers, budget travelers or if you don’t mind cramped room. 🙂
If you notice the reflection in the mirror, it is really that small. The dressing table and cupboard is just next to the bed with one feet left to walk…
and this is the toilet… OMG!!! so tiny but good things is – it’s clean
If you do not have claustrophobia (just jk.. it’s not that serious), you can start aiming for lower rate 🙂
To get there: take Tsuen Wan line (red) to Yau Ma Tei station and follow exit C. Once you are at the exit, walk to the back of the exit (like making a u-turn), walk straight and you will arrive in Arthur street. Turn left and Bridal Tea House is just twenty or thirty steps away.
