Mysista birthday is just around the corner and since all of us are at Ipoh, we thought it is a great time for a family dinner. mydaddy have always been a fan of otak-otak at Bee Gaik which serves nyonya and asian cuisine.
This quaint shop accommodate only 10 tables on the ground floor. It was only until half way savoring, we noticed there are more table on the first floor.
There are set menu available as well. We chose set A for 3-5 pax. Priced at RM43.80, it consists of 4 dishes.
1. sweet and sour fish slices was nothing much to shout. The meat was fresh and the sauce has the right balance of sweetness and sourness
2. salted fish braised pork was my favorite of the night. It was very aromatic, thanks to the salted fish with an extra kick from the dried chillies and the well flavored thin pork slices just melt in your melt.. drool~~~
3. hong siew beancurd tastes just nice.
4. stir-fry vegetable of the day was bland. healthy huh?
Since there are six of us, we ordered another two side dishes.
kapitan chicken, small at RM10. The meat was juicy and the gravy was enhanced by the robust flavor of santan without being overly spicy.
and of coz, mydaddy all time favorite otak otak with fish slices, small at RM7. Too bad I never know how to enjoy it but according to him, it was tasty and most important factor, it does not have the fishy smell.
Total bill was RM63.60 inclusive of nuts and rice. Good thing here is they’ll only charge 80sen for unlimited supply of white rice and FOC for plain water 😀
went home with a bloated stomach… blurrppp~~~
