Speaking of Cameron, the first thing that cross my mind would be a dizzy journey due to its long and winding road and for those that are prone to motion sickness, it wouldn’t be a pleasant trip during that 1 hour++ going uphill.
The reason I went to Cameron is because of
sweet corn or better known as pearl corn by the local.
Actually just wanted a lil getaway and since I’m at my hometown and have this sudden urge to eat corn, so off we drove up to the highland.
The journey from Simpang Pulai exit to Brinchang takes around 1 hour 15 minutes. We stopped at EQ strawberry park which is located just beside Equatorial hotel for toilet break and also to alleviate nausea feeling – have to balance out the conflict between vision and motion… Hahahaa~~ if you have the same problem, try chewing gum or look outside the window.
Further up is the market where you can find all sort of vegetables and flowers fresh from the farm at reasonable/dirt cheap price. Pick 7 packets of your favorite vegetables and it cost you only RM10. That’s where I bought the pearl corn as well. They usually sell it at RM10 per bundle which has around 7-8 corn depending on the size.
Along the way, there are so sooo many strawberry and cactus farm at both side, you don’t know which one you wanna visit.
It was drizzling so me made a trip further down to Ringlet to visit the tea plantation. By then, the rain stop. Wonderful~~
The tea and home made snack here are damm expensive…. 2 scones priced at RM12!!
Went to T-cafe at Tanah Rata which according to the notice will be rename to Lord-cafe soon for late lunch that served decent local and western home cooked meal.
The stairway to the cafe.
At 4:00pm, the cafe is still fully occupied – I think there’s not much choice in Cameron…. hahahaa~~ There are only two waitress which are too busy to take our order, so we wrote it on a paper and passed to them and because there is only one cook, we waited 30 minutes for the food to be served.
This is what we ordered.
Their home specialty strawberry fruity scone which they stated in the menu the first of its kind in the whole of Cameron Highlands served with cream. Hmm… can’t really taste the strawberry.. Priced at Rm2.80
Chicken burger with coleslaw and french fries at Rm7. Ehhh, I think if add cucumber and tomato will be better right?
Boneless chicken chop western style at RM14.50. A chunk of breast meat
served with home made sauce.
Not a good dining experience even the cook admit that she can’t handle the large amount of orders. Hire another cook lo….
It started to drizzle again so we rush to the market to get all that I want and then tata~~~ till we meet again when I crave for sweet corn 😀
