continued from here….
The fastest and easiest way to get to Kaohsiung from Taipei is by High Speed Rail because
1. you’ll reach in 1 hour 36 minutes
2. you can purchase the ticket online http://www.thsrc.com.tw/en/
3. HSR station is inside Taipei Railway Station which is only 5 minutes walk from City Inn 😀 bonus point
Well, great deal usually cost you more. Ticket price is at NTD1200 one way. We bought it 2 weeks prior the departure date and collected it a day before at the kiosk. All you need is the print out of the confirmation number and your passport.
Traveling at maximum speed 297km/h.
Outside food and drinks are allowed but because we don’t know that and so happen “bian dan” sold out, so “boh bian” have to tahan a bit with orange cake and green tea which cost NTD450.
Reached Zuo Ying HSR station at approximately 2:18pm.
This is our 2nd pit-stop. Live House homestay. Priced at NTD1980 per night.
The bed…
The living hall… computer provided.
The toilet…
Look nice, comfortable and decent right… Wait till you see this

The room is actually one of the unit inside the above building. There are 4 units of it. The room is clean but doesn’t really like the environment because the unit opposite our room is converted to a store room… and imagine!!! Location wise, convenient because it is only few minutes walk to MRT station. Ok, if you dun mind…..
To get there: From Zuoying HSR station, go to Zuoying MRT station (R16) and alight at Central Park station (R9). Follow exit 2. The building is just few minutes walk opposite the exit at right.

Hi Goh, yes.. if you take HSR to Kaohsiung, it will stop at Zuoying station. You can print the tickets at the kiosk available in Taipei Main City station if you are going from Taipei. Just need your passport and the booking number if not mistaken. 🙂

Hi Jass
Three of us are going to Taiwan end November. We intent to travel from Taipei when we land there to Kaohiung. Must we really book the HSR tickets online or is it safe to buy when we arrive at the station?
Also, we are travelling from Kaohsiung to chaiyi to Hualien then back to Taipei, staying two nights in each city. Any advice for us? Thank you!
Hi ML, it will be safer to buy earlier if you are firm on the travel date. Else, it really depends on your luck 🙂
I did not visit Chaiyi so cant give any suggestion. For Hualien, remember to visit Tarako Gorge.
You may want to check out on the transportation from Chaiyi to Hualien, I think there are no direct bus/train.
Enjoy ur trip 😉
is this 24-hrs? i plan to just visit kaoshiung early morning then go home late night or early morning.
Hi, this HSR is not 24 hours. You may refer the timetable at http://www.thsrc.com.tw/en/ticket/tic_time_search.asp
hello jass ,going to kaoshiung is stop zuoying station. so zuoying sation is kaoshing already or must take bus or taxi to kaoshiung again ? thks.
Hi Ben, Zuoying station is already in Kaohsiung. To get around, you can take the MRT. Search for Kaohsiung MRT map 🙂
