continued from here…….
Oohh, before I forgot, we actually asked the customer care officer to check if our flight from Taipei – KL might get overbooked as well and she told us probably and advised us to do web check-in. Aikss, another panic situation but that was 12 days later to worry about.
As to compensate our time waiting for things to be sorted out, they gave us 2 breakfast voucher at any outlet except 2 which I can’t recall. Anyway, the voucher value is only RM13 each and the breakfast there is so damm expensive it exceeded the amount. A sandwich + croissant + milo costs RM30.90, hence the receipt.
So finally, after much fuss and hassle, we boarded Singapore Airlines to Changi International Airport for transit to Tao Yuan International Airport. Quite rush actually because the departure time is 10:20am and by the time we got our boarding pass, it was already 9:50am like that. So, we run like siao lang/mad people to the boarding gate. Then, straight-after touchdown at terminal 2 Changi Airport at 11:20am, we have to rush to terminal 3 to catch the next flight to Taipei. And so our ordeal end when we finally boarded the plane, no more running but but….. only then we realize we won’t be sitting together 😦 for that long 5 hours. sob~~~ What to expect when you were being squeezed into a craft at the very last minute.
OK lah, can’t complain anymore. Lucky they have in-flight entertainment. So, while waiting for lunch to be serve, enjoy the movie and their 1st class hospitality lor . It was already 2pm and I was damm hungry. All I have since 5am is that expensive bread.
Lunch time… Yippie~~~ This is what they served.
Oriental Selection: Oriental salad with drunken chicken + Stir fried pork with ginger
International Selection: Marinated seafood with penne pasta salad + Marinated roasted chicken with mashed potato
Desserts of the day is ice cream but how to eat when I’m already freezing there…. So, continue with movie, dozed off a while, ouchhh… felt so long. After the 5 lonely hours, finally, Taiwan, here I come…… Reached Tao Yuan International Airport at 4:55pm. Waited a while at baggage claim area
and then to the customer service center (located right in front of the exit after baggage claim for terminal 2) to apply Youth Travel Card. Must get this because you’ll get discount for some entrance fees or hotels. However, only eligible for those 30 years old and below. All you need to do is just show them your passport and they’ll let you to fill a form.
and SUPPOSE to claim the Digital Tour Buddy, a handset which offers 24-hour service and assistance and some other built in function such as translator, very very useful since we are in an unknown land BUT we couldn’t get it because we were in terminal 2 and the handset is in terminal 1. What happened is, when we register, we put terminal 1 because MAS will land at terminal 1!!! To get it, we will need to take a shuttle bus. Haihh, so mafan/troublesome, so we give up considering it was already quite late and too lazy to wait 10 minutes for bus with big luggage.
So, we adjourned to the bus ticketing counter. We choose Guo Guang and it cost NTD125 per person from airport to Taipei Main Station which usually take 50 minutes depending on the traffic.
To get there: After baggage claim exit, turn right, go straight until end, turn right, ticketing counter on left at the end.
This is Taiwan at 5:40pm. So dark. Apparently, their sunset is at 5pm during winter.
After about 1 hour 30 minutes, due to traffic jam, finally, we reached Taipei Main Station and so the hunt for our 1st pit-stop began. Based on the description, it is just 5 minutes walk from Taipei Main Station and nearby Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Department Store. Easy right but we had some hard times to find it actually. Problem is, we never know that Taipei Main Station is so damm big it got 4 different exit. So, next time when you are lost, ask for direction!! It makes life much more easier… Hahahhaa~~
How many finally I have here??
