What else is better than to have a bite on the variety of mouth-watering dim sum and to sip the hot chinese tea in the early morning. For Ipohans, the top 3 famous dim sum restaurants will be Foh San, Ming Court and Yoke Fook Moon. I personally prefer Ming Court but today entry will be about Foh San. This is my 1st visit to Foh San after they relocate to a bigger shop lots, located just beside Yoke Fook Moon and opposite Ming Court. So, you can expect heavy traffic as early as 7am. You might have difficulty in looking for a car park too but if you know the area, you can always park your car opposite Excelsior Hotel and remember to get your parking ticket. You wouldn’t want to spend another RM30 after the wonderful breakfast 😀
And as expected, tourists and locals flock to this premise to taste the scrumptious chinese delicacies. We were there at around 8:30am and had a hard time in getting a place for 2. Imagine those with 6 pax and above. Another thing you can expect when dining at dim sum restaurant in Ipoh is that you will get all the attention from the waiting customers, staring at you, waiting impatiently, saying in the heart “faster lar, eat so long ka“… Hahahaaa~~ Is kind of unpleasant experience for others but it is already a norm for Ipohans. Oh ya, and be prepared to share your table with unknown. Finally, after a few staring, we manage to get a place overlooking the staircase leading to the 2nd floor. People mountain people sea (yan shan yan hoi), I wonder where this people come from.. LOL~~
Is time to treat our stomach after all the staring and waiting. And guess what, those waitress are way too busy to entertain you. The dim sum cart will never reach to our tables!! With all the chaos, is better that I go to the cart to chose my favorite. Manage to grab 2 of their most famous BBQ Pork Bun. I must say this is the best that we have had for the morning. I recommend this 😀
BBQ Pork Bun (Char Siew Pao)
Most of their dim sum are added with celery and parsley leaf which are not for my liking. Pictures speak a thousand words. Below is what we have tasted.
Fish Ball (Yu Tan)
Steamed Fish Ball (Yu Mai)
Pork Dumpling (Siu Mai)
Prawn Dumpling (Har Kao)
Stewed Chicken Feet (Fong Chow)
Chee Cheung Fun
They have another section for take away order so you don’t have to join the crowd to place your order 😀
Total damage for the breakfast was around RM30. Enjoy~~~
