On the second day of our trip, we checked into Butterfly on Morrison at Causeway Bay, Hong Kong island – very near to Times Square. It is within walking distance to Causeway Bay station, not near though… heee
probably 10 to 15min.
With an average rate of HKD990 per night, this is the room that we stayed in for 6 nights. Additional 10% service charged is included for each night which makes our pocket hole bigger
On the bright side, it is a new hotel (about 1 year) so everything is pretty new, much more spacious, comfortable and clean plus they provide free internet access (charges apply for most hotel in HK) albeit there’s a very minimal noise pollution. I don’t have any problem but mydaling who has low tolerance for sound does complain about it. I’ll tell you why later.
The toilet is just behind the bed and oh god… compared to Bridal Tea House, I have all the space I want here but two things to complain are the washbowl and toilet bowl. I don’t have a close up shot but the former is super small and installed very low and the latter is a lil higher than the standard one – NO!! i’m not short!! i dun have problem with toilet bowl here…… **in denial mode. is that HK style?? hmmm….
Apart from that, I really don’t have any complain for the room. There are safe box, mini refrigerator, hair dryer, LAN cable and cupboard was big with long mirror on both door – girls will definitely luv it!! oh wait.. now i recall. the lighting at that area is quite low so you need to do your make up in the toilet
There is a dvd player but we did not use it at all. You can borrow some dvd from the counter at level 3.
As for the view, we can see Happy Valley racecourse from our room but too bad there isn’t any race on the weekend. There’s a night race on Wednesday but we were in Macau
Woke up every morning to this view, surrounded by tall and thin building and slow traffic most of the time. As to why there are sound pollution, right outside the hotel is 3 or 4 bus stops. So you can hear those engine sound till late night. We requested higher level during booking but apparently, level 12 isn’t good enough.
So, if you are interested, ask for at least 20th above. Highest 28th if I remember correctly.
To get there: take Island line (blue) to Causeway Bay station and follow exit A to Times Square (quite a distance, probably 5 to 10min walk). Once you are at the exit (in the mall), turn right and you’ll see as the pic below. Turn left and ahead of you is the flyover bridge. Walk under it to the opposite of the road, turn left and just a few step away, you’ll see a wet market on your right. Turn right and walk pass the market until you reach the junction of a main road. Turn left, walk straight and Butterfly on Morrison is on your left. There will be a receptionist at the ground floor and the check in counter is on third floor.
The morning activity… we walked pass this market every morning to MTR station
