continued from here….
because of the delay (i know… i know… repeated N times adi, juz bear with me ya :p), we have to cancel our initial plan.Instead of going to Xi Men Ding which is only 1 station away, day 1 night was spent at Shin Kong Mitsukoshi hunting for nice and cheap jacket because the wind wasn’t kind to us… Super windy… Ended the day with dinner from McD, thought they sell pork burger but disappointed. The only difference is they have grilled chicken meat.
After a full recharge, we kick-started day 2 with a bus ride to Yehliu for the magnificent rock formations. Put this in to your must see-sights list. You won’t regret it.
Before that, remember to buy Easy Card for NTD500 per card at any customer service center in MRT station for MRT, bus and train. NTD100 as deposit and remaining NTD400 cash value.
To go to Yehliu, head to the Taipei Bus Terminal. You can either use Easy Card or purchase the ticket from the ticketing counter at NTD48 one way. Wait at Jinshan exit. In the past 13 days in Taiwan, I have never waited more than 15 minutes for bus. So, don’t worry you’ll miss one. There are abundant of them waiting for you. Very very efficient wan.
But there are not express as well because they’ll stop along the way to pick up passengers. After 1 hour 15 minutes or less of the bumpy and hilly ride, we reached a small town and alighted here
You’ll have to walk for some 10-15 minutes before you see Yehliu Geopark. Along the way, you’ll see a fishing village and lotsa seafood restaurant ready to slain your wallet. Hahahaa~~
Entrance fees for adult is NTD50.Youth Travel Card is useless here. They have Ocean World also.
So so soooo many tourist. We gotta move faster or we won’t get the best panoramic view. Hehe~~ but still have to walk for another 5-10 minutes from the entrance before reaching the geopark. When we finally reach, there were already so sooo many people there. So, we climb to the mini observatory deck for a better view and this is how it looks like!!!!

Nice lehhhh…..
Good weather some more. Syok!! Although sunny but we didn’t sweat at all because it is super windy I have to wear my jacket. Heheee~~
This is the famous queen’s head but sadly the circumference of the neck is shrinking every year. So, in case it can’t hold anymore, they have made a replica of it. You can see it along the way from the entrance.
I don’t know what is this. Use your imagination….
It’s just so beautiful you don’t wanna leave this place.
Ohhh and this is the picture of the day…
China ah pek making full use of the crystal clear water to wash his SMELLY FEET!!!! You think what, hot spring arrr???? This is not allow OK!! Best part is, he think he is doing something great he shout and yell at his friend. no malu wan… If not, we wouldn’t have notice him… Please don’t pollute kay…
After spending like 2 hours there, we leave the cape to adjourned to Jiufen, another small town.
To go to Jiufen from Yehliu, you’ll need to get to the opposite of the road where you alighted just now for bus to Keelung station. OK, here’s the tricky part.
Get off at the stop after Keelung station. If you so happen get off at Keelung station, dun panic, the bus stop is actually just next to the station. Just some walking will do. Then wait for bus that will stop at Jiufen. Get it??
If you can’t interpret or imagine it (bcoz I find it hard to explain as well *shy), ask people around for where to take bus to Jiufen. Don’t worry, they won’t bite (bcoz that is what I did when I’m on the bus and the aunty ask us to follow her and show us where and what bus to take)
On the way, you’ll pass by Keelung city. Their famous night market is Miaokou.
We paid the bus fare using Easy Card so I dunno how much it cost. After another 1 hour 30 minutes of again bumpy and hilly ride, we reach here… the famous Jiufen Old Street.
This is a must try wild boar sausage. Yummy-licious!!!
This is what she define outstanding!!! She is such a great poser. Pose whenever see she lens, even teach you how to pose. Business must be very hard nowadays she have to be unique.
The stairs to……
breathtaking view!!! Too bad a lil misty. If not we could see more.
It is only 6pm and it is this dark… You really gotta wake up early to enjoy the day during winter.
After spending around 1 hour there, we hopped into the bus opposite 7-eleven to Keelung station for bus back to Taipei. The bus will drop you at Keelung port (opposite where you board the bus just now). Once you reach Keelung station, look for Guo Guang bus terminal. If you do not have Easy Card, ticket can be purchase at the ticketing counter.
It was already 8 something when we reached Taipei. Ohhh, did I mention anything about food except for some light snack in Jiufen?? We are so damm hungry already so we strolled around Huaining street for food. Then came across this and I’m happy to have that. My all time favorite, fried chicken…
Small at NTD55, big at NTD100. Fried squid small at NTD60, big at NTD120.
Just next to it is a Japanese restaurant. We thought what the heck… all the way to Taiwan for Japanese cuisine?? But something caught mydaling attention. Pork ramen!! pork fanatic!! Hahahaaa~~ So up (upstairs la) we go for a luxurious dinner, actually very cheap only la, luxury bcoz finally… ohhh!! glorious food, come to meme…. we never had a proper meal for the last 24 hours!!! sob~~~
All set come with this…
Delicious pork ramen at NTD160 if not mistaken.
My pork tepanyaki… Oucchhh, drooling adi. I wish I could have it now.
So good that we went again on the last night in Taipei
This is the additional side dishes we ordered. Instead of using rice for handroll, they substitute is with cabbage.
Sake lala at NTD118.
After stuffing our bellies, we called it a day and went back to hotel… time to rest our feet…
Next, sightseeing at Taipei….

Hello I don’t read/speak Chinese, will it be any problem to find a bus from Taipei-Yehliu-jiufen-Taipei ? Thanks
Hi Ivan, It’s pretty convenient as they have English name for the places but just in case, you can prepare some print out with mandarin translation so you can show it to the local.
Hotel front desk should be able to guide you or go to the bus terminal near Taipei Main Station as posted
Thanks for sharing. I needed the direction to get around from Taipei to Yeliu. This was very helpful
